What brought them to the Smart Entry System (SES) at the Incheon International Airport?

Why does the Immigrant Mentor Group visit the Incheon International Airport twice in just a week?

As you can tell, we just visited the Incheon International Airport a few days ago. 

There, we promoted the Smart Entry System (SES) while handing out pamphlets, together with the Minister of Justice. 

I’m married, but every time I arrive in Korea, my wife and I have to be separated because I use an immigration lane for foreign nationals and she lines up for a lane for Korean passport holders.

It was truly heartbreaking. But now, foreigners who are registered can also use entry lane for Korean passport holders. 

네, 여러분 우리는 얼마 전에 인천공항에 왔는데요

법무부 장관님과 멘토분들과 같이 팜플릿도 제공하면서 자동 출입국 심사대를 홍보했어요

저는 결혼을 했는데 한국에 입국할 때마다 저는 외국인 심사대, 와이프는 국민심사대를 이용해서 한국에 도착하자 마자 항상 아내와 헤어져야 했어요

저는 결혼을 했는데 한국에 입국할 때마다 

외국인 심사  안돼~ 국민심사

한국에 도착하자마자 우리는 헤어져야 했어요... 

마음이 너무 아팠지만 그런데 이제는 이런 시스템 덕분에 외국인도 등록외국인이면 국민심사대를 이용할 수 있습니다.

그런데 이제는 새로운 시스템 덕분에 같이 입국해요

외국인이라도 등록외국인이면 국민심사대로 입국 가능

Is it only available to marriage immigrants? 

Overseas Koreans, permanent residents (F-5 visa holders), and marriage immigrants can use entry lane for Korean passport holders. 

That means these foreign nationals can use the entry lane for Korean passport holders together with Korean nationals, right? 

Right. 

And there is another immigration system that I like even more, and it is an automated immigration gate called the SES (Smart Entry System).

국민심사대는 결혼 이민자만 이용할 수 있는 건가요?

"한국인과 함께 국민심사대를 이용할 수 있다는 거죠?“

재외동포, 영주자격 소지자(F-5), 결혼이민자는 국민심사대를 이용할 수 있어요.

“맞습니다.”

"그것보다 제가 더 좋아하는 심사대가 있는데요. 바로 자동 출입국심사대입니다."

맞습니다.

바로 자동 출입국심사대입니다

짜잔~ 바로 여기 

뭐가 지나갔지? 

Have you ever used the SES before?

Yes, I’ve used it a lot. I have done prior registration a few years ago and have been using it ever since, but now it is available without prior registration. 

Who is eligible to use the SES? 

Foreigners who are registered or have reported domestic residence can use it. 

Is it open to everyone who is eligible?

It is a bit different for children.

Both Korean nationals and registered foreigners aged 7 to under 17 must register for the system prior to the use.

Is it also available to foreign visitors with a short-term visa? 

Of course, foreign visitors are required to provide their biometric information, such as fingerprints and facial image at an immigration counter upon arrival in Korea. This information allows them to use the system when they depart. 

Then, why do many foreigners not use the SES that much? 

I think most of them still aren’t aware of the system. 

Now we know, let’s use the system when departing!

I asked how long it typically takes to use the SES on average, and the answer was just a few seconds. 

It is like driving through a toll gate on a Hi-pass lane on highways.

네, 많이 이용했어요

저는 몇 년 전에 사전등록하고  계속 이용하고 있는데  지금은 사전등록 없이도 이용 가능합니다

2018. 9부터 등록외국인 및 거소신고외국인 사전등록

없이 자동출입국심사 이용 중 

어떤 자격이 있어야 자동 출입국심사대를 이용할 수 있나요?

“등록외국인과 거소신고자는 가능합니다.”

등록외국인 거소(주로 거주하는 장소)신고자 가능!

“그럼 누구나 이용할 수 있나요?”

“아이들의 경우에는 조금 달라요”

그 자격이 되면 그럼 누구나 이용할 수 있나요?

아이들의 경우에는 조금 달라요 만.. NG

잊지마세요

한국인도 등록외국인도 만 7세 이상 만 17세 미만은 자동출입국심사 사전등록이 필수입니다.

단기 비자를 받고 한국에 여행 온 외국인도 가능할까요?

당연하죠. 국에 여행 온 사람들이 입국심사 때 얼굴과 지문정보를 제공하잖아요. 그 정보를 제공했다면 출국 때 자동출입국심사대를 이용할 수 있습니다. 

대부분 여행객들은 왜 자동출입국심사를 이용하지 않을까요?

아직 사람들이 잘 모르는 것 같아요. 아쉽.. 서운..

이제 알았으니까 이번 출국은 꼭 자동출입국심사대로~!

자동 출입국 심사대 이용할 때 평균적으로 시간이 얼마나 걸리는지 물어봤어요 몇. 초. 면. 끝!
