The Ministry of Justice (Minister Park Sang-ki) has revised its Student Visa rules to counter recently growing irregular student immigrants. The revised scheme, entering into force starting from March 4th of 2019, is designed to substantialize the nation’s Student Visa Scheme, which will include strengthening visa reviews of universities subject to consulting on their international student programs or universities facing restrictions on visa issuance, based on the IEQAS* (International Education Quality Assurance System) results conducted by the Ministry of Education, while expanding preferential benefits for accredited universities, etc.
